Details

The Point-in-Time (PIT) count is January 26, 2023

United Way Dallas is promoting the opportunity with Housing Forward to volunteer for the annual Point in Time Count, an opportunity to count sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness.

The purpose of the HUD Point-in-Time (PIT) count is to obtain a census of our unhoused neighbors in our community. The data collected during the PIT count helps our community understand the extent of homelessness, changing trends, and the measure of success in making homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring.

Housing Forward, as the HUD designated lead agency for Dallas and Collin Counties, leads the PIT count in collaboration with the All Neighbors Coalition. The All Neighbors Coalition is made up of more than 100 partner organizations that directly provide critical resources and support to individuals, Veterans, youth, and families experiencing homelessness.
