United Way Centennial Summer Meals Kickoff
United Way of Metropolitan Dallas leads and supports food access initiatives and advocacy efforts in North Texas to ensure that every child has access to healthy meals in summer. Through out-of-school-time and supplemental meal programs, United Way addresses a vital need for hard-working families that rely on federal nutrition assistance programs during the school year, helping local meal providers raise awareness, increase food security resources and more effectively address child hunger in our communities.
We invite volunteers to join us for one of our most impactful events of the season: the Summer Meals Kickoff held June 12 at the West Dallas Multipurpose Center. This fun-filled event will provide local families with resources centered around food access, nutrition education, physical activity and overall healthy living, including free food provided by Dallas ISD Food and Nutrition Services and snow cones, crafts, inflatables and music.
