Reading Day 2026

Join us March 6 for United Way Reading Day presented by Atmos Energy, as we inspire thousands of North Texas children with a love of reading! Education is one of the building blocks of opportunity, empowering kids from grade school to college, to their career and beyond. And reading is the core of most learning. Together, we can spark an interest in reading and build up the skills that students need to succeed—like reading at grade level.

At United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, we’re kicking off our second century of impact, and, fittingly, this year’s Reading Day is inspired by the future and its endless possibilities. We’ll share fun and engaging books , all while advancing our Aspire United 2030 goals.

During this exciting day, volunteers will promote literacy and celebrate the joy of reading as they read to thousands of elementary students across North Texas classrooms and participate in our online book drives to help build each child’s personal library
